National Lockdown: Stay at Home At midnight on Wednesday 6th January 2021, England was placed under national lockdown restrictions. The devolved administrations of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have taken similar steps. Our pharmacy remains open as usual to provide our essential services to the community and surrounding areas. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you need us. Shielding advice for the clinically extremely vulnerable has been re-instated. If you fall into this category, you are advised to stay at home as much as possible, except to go outside for exercise or to attend health appointments. Please stay at home as much as possible. Oxford/AstraZeneca Vaccine Approved for use in the UK by MHRA On Wednesday 30th December 2020, the MHRA approved the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine for widespread use after rigorous testing. The vaccine is both safe, and effective. This vaccine is due to be rolled out commencing on the 4th December. For Valens Medical Group patients, please visit www.valens.medical.co.uk for more information about their vaccination programme, operating from the Lintonville Medical Group site. Please don't contact the surgery yourself, you will be contacted when it is your time to be vaccinated. |

Pfizer/BioNTech RNA Vaccine Approved for use in UK by MHRA The MHRA has conducted its first approval for emergency use with the Pfizer-led COVID-19 vaccine. Community pharmacy awaits further guidance from DHSC and NHS England and NHS Improvement as to how we will assist in the rollout of this programme. We do not anticipate any of our other services to be affected by this at this time. |

COVID-19 and Flu Vaccinations Guidance today has been issued for the implementation of the NHS Flu Vaccination Service within Community Pharmacy for the 2020-2021 season. Please register for flu vaccinations with us here. Please note those aged 50-64 who do not have underlying health conditions are not yet eligible for the NHS Vaccine, but they may be later in the season — please await further guidance. |
