Our Pharmacy-led Local Vaccination Site (LVS) has recently been notified that our centre at Wellway Pharmacy Morpeth has been selected to offer the COVID-19 Booster Vaccination from September if required.
This selection has only been made possible by the stellar efforts of our Site Management team and Pharmacists who continue to work with regional and national counterparts to help roll out the programme in the area.
We are finalising plans for rolling out this scheme once JCVI guidance has been clarified and allows us to. We hope to roll out the booster programme to those eligible as soon as possible, and please be reassured we are working hard to do this. Please do not contact us requesting further information — it will be released as we get it.
There is no official guidance yet as to whether Flu Jabs and COVID Boosters will be administered together to those eligible. We plan on rolling out our Flu Vaccination programme at our pharmacies from September too, however we cannot currently guarantee co-administration of vaccines at our Morpeth Vaccination Site.
We hope to offer NHS Influenza Vaccinations (Flu Jabs) at all three of our pharmacy sites from September onwards. We are in the final stages of planning for this, and will release further information in due course. These will be available to all aged over 50, and those with certain health conditions, however may be offered in stages, starting with the oldest and most vulnerable patients.
We plan on offering an online booking system through our website for Flu Vaccination at all three sites. (Central Ashington, Morpeth and Pegswood Wellway). This will allow us to easily facilitate numerous appointments in order to offer Flu Jabs to as many eligible patients as possible during the season.
Further information will be published on our website, at our sites, and on our social media once this system has been implemented.
We are considering offering Private Flu Vaccinations for all adults at our sites, however we wish to at this stage prioritise the NHS Flu Vaccination Campaign, so we can ensure we can offer NHS vaccinations to as many people as possible.
Further developments will, as always, be posted to our website, social media accounts, and will be signposted in our pharmacies. Follow us on social media to keep up-to-date with the latest.
