Wearing a face covering continues to be mandatory for all patients attending all NHS Settings from July 19th. This includes in our Pharmacies, Vaccination Sites, and adjoining GP Surgeries. Please ensure your face covering is worn upon entering the building, and covers both your nose and mouth for your duration of attendance. You do not need to wear a face covering if you have a genuine medical exemption.
This measure will help protect not only yourself, but importantly vulnerable members of our community, our other patients, and also our staff. Our hardworking team put themselves at greater risk of COVID-19 exposure every day, to provide essential pharmacy services. It is important this is recognised, as any cases of self-isolation among staff may affect the continuity and quality of care our pharmacy can provide.
We hold a zero tolerance policy of abuse or aggression (physical or verbal) towards any of our staff, who may have to enforce these rules. Anyone found in breach of this policy may have to find alternative pharmacy care. Please respect the team that looks after you.
This mandatory face covering policy is part of current Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Guidance issued by the NHS and Department for Health and Social Care which applies to all of Primary Care (GP Surgeries, Pharmacies, Optometrists, etc.), and all of Secondary Care (Hospitals, CAMHS Services, etc.). It will be continually reviewed as the pandemic develops, and any changes will be published as and when they occur. Our pharmacies continue to recognise the importance of following this guidance, to help protect patients and prevent spread of COVID-19, as cases and infections remain at high levels.
