How we calculate your quote: Unlike NHS prescriptions which have a fixed government set fee, private prescription costs are determined by the market value of the medication. We apply a standard professional markup to the cost of the drug; however, a minimum charge of £5.00 applies to every private prescription dispensed.

1. Clinical Check
Once we’ve received your prescription, our Pharmacists, supported by AI-powered tools, clinically check medication prescribed to ensure it’s safe and appropriate – checking the indication, dose, quantity, duration of treatment, and any interactions and contraindications – to ensure it’s safe for you.
2. Ordering & Dispensing
We hold hundreds of medicines in stock, and work with over 10 regular suppliers to ensure we can obtain other lines quickly & efficiently. We dispense, label and prepare medicines in the correct quantity and form, including reconstitution if needed.
3. Prescription Check
Your safety is our priority. Every dispensed prescription is checked by our highly trained team. We use advanced barcode-scanning technology to verify medications issued, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy before your medicines reach you.
4. Ready for you
Once your prescription is prepared, we can send you a text notification. You can choose to collect from our pharmacy counter, use our secure 24/7 collection point in Morpeth. If you’ve not already brought us a copy of your private prescription, we’ll need this before the supply is issued.

Veterinary Prescriptions
Did you know we also dispense prescriptions for your pets? Vets often prescribe human-licensed medications for animals when a specific veterinary version is not available (known as ‘The Cascade’).
We can dispense these prescriptions at competitive private rates. While we do not stock animal-only medicines, we are happy to quote for any human-licensed items your vet has prescribed.

We can usually dispense private prescriptions within 24 hours of receiving the prescription, as long as we hold the medicines in stock. It may take 48-72 hours if we have to source medication.
If you need your medicines quicker – just get in touch! We can usually prepare same-day when needed, but advance notice is hugely appreciated.
If you have registered for our notification service, we will send a secure text message as soon as your prescription has been prepared.
Yes, you may collect medication for a family member or friend, provided you can confirm their name, address, and whether they pay for their prescriptions. Payment for private prescriptions will have to be made upon collection.
Unlike NHS prescriptions, private medication costs vary based on the drug’s market price. Our dispensing fees start from £5.00, and we always strive to offer competitive rates. Request a quote for an accurate price.
We are pleased to dispense private prescriptions for your pets prescribed by a UK-registered Veterinary Surgeon. We specialise in human-licensed medications prescribed by vets under ‘The Cascade’ (for example, specific blood pressure or heart medications).
As we are a community pharmacy, we do not typically stock animal-only medicines (such as flea/worm treatments or specific pet antibiotics). If you are unsure if we can dispense your pet’s prescription, please submit a quote request, and our clinical team will verify it for you.
