Wellway Pharmacy Morpeth’s brand new, state-of-the-art 24-hour prescription collection service has been operating since March 2020. In the bid for our local, independent community pharmacy to be at the forefront of the latest technological innovations and advances to benefit our patients, this service allows its users to collect their prescriptions from our exterior collection point any time; day or night, every day of the year. With the capacity to store upwards of 300 prescriptions in our collection point at any one time, we hope to provide a flexible, accomodating and simple way for the people of Morpeth and the North East to access their medicines through us.
With our new service, you can simply order your prescriptions as normal through your General Practice. When we receive them electronically from them, we will immediately set about preparing them. The preparation of your prescription is tracked, and once your prescription is ready for collection, you will receive an SMS text message to notify you that your prescription is ready. Your text message will contain a code that must be used at the collection point to access your medicines.
Our collection point is prominently located at the front of our building, in the heart of Morpeth, and is accessible all day, every day. Allowing 24/7 access to the collection point grants you as a patient the ultimate flexibility to collect your medicines when it suits you. Please note that to maximise the number of patients we can serve, you must collect your prescription within 48 hours of receiving your text notification, or it will be removed from the collection point and held in our pharmacy to collect.
Our collection machine can accommodate prescriptions of all different shapes or sizes — with one item inside, or ten. We can also safely store glassware and fragile objects within the collection point. Please note the only items that cannot be collected through our 24-hour collection point are refrigerated items, or Controlled Drugs (CDs) — these must be collected from within the pharmacy during our usual opening times.
Even with the use of our 24-hour prescription collection service, our patients are always welcome to benefit from our other services or our team of healthcare professionals — we can offer health advice, how to get the most out of your medicines, a wide range of pharmacy services, and much, much more. We’d love to welcome more patients to benefit from our 24-hour collection point, whether you’re an existing Wellway Pharmacy Morpeth patient, or a new customer to us. Joining is quick and easy, and can be completed in a matter of minutes, with just one simple step to complete.
Please note, if you’re planning on joining our service, we cannot store Controlled Drugs (CDs) or Refigerated items within our automated collection point. Please contact us to discuss your use of this service if you are prescribed any of these items regularly.

If you’re a new patient with us, or have been with our pharmacy for a while already, joining our service is simple. Complete our online registration form as linked below to join our service quickly and easily. Once you’ve completed and sent the form, you’ll receive a confirmation email within 24 hours to confirm that you have joined the service. You can then start benefitting from the service the next time you are prescribed an acute prescription, or the next time you order your repeat medicines — they will be sent to us to dispense, and you will receive a text message with your code to collect them from our automated collection point.
Please note that if you’re joining this service as a new patient to Wellway Pharmacy Morpeth, registering for this service means you will nominate us as your chosen pharmacy to provide your pharmacy services — your prescriptions will be sent to us automatically for dispensing unless otherwise instructed.
