How it works

1. Order as usual

Once signed up to the service, just order your prescription as usual. Our team will dispense it and securely load it into the automated point.

2. Get your Code

You’ll receive an SMS text message with a unique 6-digit PIN as soon as your prescription is ready for collection. Then, head down to the collection point.

3. Enter Code & Pay if Needed

Just tap the screen, enter your code and pay conveniently if needed with contactless or chip and pin.

4. Collect your Prescription

All sorted! Your prescription will be retrieved and will then be accessible through the hatch.

Exclusions: For safety reasons, Controlled Drugs and Fridge Items (like insulin) cannot be stored in the machine and must be collected from the counter during opening hours.

Nominating our pharmacy: key things to know

If you’re a new patient to our pharmacies, and nominating us for the first time, here’s some things to bear in mind:

Your information is stored and transmitted securely, in accordance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act.
As a patient at our pharmacy, we share limited information about you to those who commission our services, the wider NHS, and local and national authorities, for the purposes of providing healthcare and for our payments.
You don’t have to nominate a pharmacy in order to receive your prescriptions.
You can still receive your prescriptions from your GP and ask them to be sent to a specific pharmacy each time.
If you nominate a pharmacy, your prescriptions will be sent to them electronically for dispensing. There’s no need to pick up a paper copy from your GP.
Unless you specifically request a paper prescription, or the item prescribed can only go on paper.
You are free to choose any pharmacy (or none at all) as your nominated dispenser, regardless of location.
You can set, change, or remove your nomination at any time.
Changing nominations can be done via the NHS App, by contacting any pharmacy, or by contacting your GP practice.

How long do I have to collect my prescription?

To keep space available for others, please collect your items within 48 hours of receiving your text. We’ll send a reminder text when you have 24 hours left to collect your prescription.

After 48 hours, you’ll be unable to collect your medicines from the machine, and your prescription will be taken into the pharmacy and can be collected from the pharmacy counter during our opening times.

I haven’t collected my prescription in the 48-hour timeframe. Where is it now?

We can only keep items in the collection point for 48 hours to ensure there’s enough space for everyone.

After 48 hours, you’ll be unable to collect your medicines from the machine, and your prescription will be taken into the pharmacy and can be collected from the pharmacy counter during our opening times.

Can I register my phone number for family members?

It is possible to register for this service with your mobile number, on behalf of someone else, with their permission. You can also have multiple patients assigned to the same phone number.

Ask the person you’d like to receive the texts for to complete the registration form, indicating that they are using a representative’s phone number, and that they give permission for this to be used.

Can others collect my prescription on my behalf?

Absolutely – just let whoever is coming to collect your prescription know the code you’ve been sent, and whether you need to pay for your prescriptions or your exemption, if you have one.

Is the collection point safe and secure?

Absolutely. The machine is built with medical-grade security and is monitored by 24-hour CCTV. Your medication is stored in a temperature-controlled internal environment, and only someone with your unique, single-use PIN can access your prescription.

What happens if I lose the code?

Don’t worry. We send a reminder text with the code after 24 hours if you haven’t yet collected. If you need your code quicker, simply call the pharmacy during our normal opening hours. We can verify your identity, and let you know the code to help you access your medicines.
