Who can have the NHS COVID-19 Vaccination?
We can provide a free winter NHS COVID-19 vaccination from any of our pharmacies for:
- adults aged 75 years and over
- residents in care homes for older adults
- individuals who are immunosuppressed aged 6 months and over (we can vaccinate patients 18 years and over at our pharmacies).

Immunosuppressed patients aged 6 months and over can access free NHS COVID-19 Vaccinations. If you’re 18 or over, you can get this from our pharmacies. You’ll usually be told by your Doctor or the NHS if you’re immunosuppressed and therefore eligible, but we’ve listed some eligible groups below:
- Organ, bone marrow or stem cell transplant patients
- Those being treated with systemic steroids for more than a month
- Those living with HIV
- Those receiving immunosuppressive or immunomodulating biological therapy, including children who are about to receive therapy
- Those undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy
- Those requiring long-term treatment for immunosuppression
- Those with a history of haematological malignancy including chronic leukaemia, lymphomas, and leukaemia
- Those with genetic disorders affecting the immune system
While this list summarises some major groups, it does not cover everything. Please check online at nhs.uk/get-vaccine to see if you are eligible. If you’re unsure of your eligibility – don’t hesitate to get in touch! We’re more than happy to help and will offer you an NHS Vaccination if you’re eligible.
How to get your COVID-19 Vaccination
NHS COVID-19 + Flu Vaccination = A Winning Combination!

Frequently Asked Questions.
COVID-19 can be serious, especially for older adults, and those with underlying health conditions. Vaccination is the best way to protect yourself, reduce your risk of serious illness, and help prevent spreading COVID-19 to others.
The types of COVID virus in circulation change regularly, so it’s currently recommended to get vaccinated twice per year if you’re at risk. The vaccine is updated regularly to help protect against the most prevalent strain(s).
Groups currently eligible for NHS COVID-19 Vaccination are:
- adults aged 75 years and over
- residents in care homes for older adults
- individuals who are immunosuppressed aged 6 months and over
We provide COVID-19 Vaccinations every Autumn and Spring, for those eligible, to protect yourself and those around you. You can get vaccinated at any of our pharmacies. Walk-in vaccinations are also available at certain clinics.
If you’re also eligible for an NHS Flu Jab, you can receive these at the same appointment! It’s perfectly safe, and gives you the best winter protection in record time.
We can provide COVID-19 Vaccination to those who are immunosuppressed, and aged 18 or over.
According to the NHS website, you may have a weakened immune system (be immunosuppressed) due to a health condition, treatment or medicine, including if you:
- have ever had a blood cancer, such as leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma
- have had an organ, bone marrow or stem cell transplant
- have HIV (at any stage)
- have a genetic disorder affecting your immune system
- have certain medical treatments, such as steroid medicine (depending on your dose), certain antibody therapies, chemotherapy or radiotherapy (including those whose treatment ended up to 6 months ago)
- take certain medicines that increase your risk of infection, such as azathioprine, dexamethasone, prednisolone, ciclosporin or mycophenolate (depending on your dose)
- take long-term immunosuppressive treatment for conditions such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, scleroderma and psoriasis.
If you are unsure, please speak to your pharmacist, GP or specialist for advice. You can also confirm your eligibility with the healthcare professional at your vaccination appointment.
These lists are a summary and do not cover everything. Read a full summary of those who are eligible in the COVID-19 chapter of the green book on GOV.UK.
We provide walk-in vaccinations at specified times during vaccination season. Simply pop-in or give us a call during these times, and we can make sure you’re vaccinated comfortably, quickly and safely.
Find out suitable locations and times using our clinic date and time list, shown above. You can always give us a call to check availability and how busy we are beforehand.
We also have a dedicated walk-in vaccinations page if you’d like any further information.
We can currently provide vaccinations to the following ages:
- Adult COVID-19 and Flu Vaccination: 18 years and over
- Children’s Nasal Flu Vaccination: ages 2-3 years
If you need a Vaccination and you’re not within these age groups, you may be able to get your jab at other pharmacies (which can be found via the NHS website), or receive your vaccination via a participating GP surgery.
Unfortunately we don’t currently provide Private COVID-19 Vaccinations due to low projected local demand, and the high costs of the vaccines making it difficult for us to run a financially viable service.
We do provide annual Private Winter Flu Vaccinations for those not eligible for our NHS Service. Find out more on our dedicated page.
Our NHS COVID-19 Service runs twice per year:
- From October to January, for Winter Protection;
- From March to June, for Summer Protection.
Eligible groups will be invited by the NHS, and we’ll also make announcements on our website, social media and communications channels to make you aware when bookings open, and clinics are available.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Millions of doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been provided safely, in the UK and worldwide.
Mild side effects such as a sore arm or slight temperature may occur and usually pass quickly. Serious side effects are rare, and risk factors such as allergy to certain ingredients are always screened for at every appointment, ensuring your safety. Our staff are trained to manage reactions to vaccines, and are always on hand to support you with any questions you may have.
Receiving Flu and COVID vaccinations at the same appointment has proven to be safe, effective, and efficient. Usually, we’ll administer one vaccine in each arm, after making sure you are eligible, and suitable to receive vaccination.
If you have any questions about receiving two vaccinations at the same time, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
