Frequently Asked Questions.
Flu can be serious, especially for older adults, pregnant women, and those with underlying health conditions. Vaccination is the best way to protect yourself, reduce your risk of serious illness, and help prevent spreading flu to others.
Flu can also ruin plans! Don’t let the virus get in the way of what you’re up to this Winter. Booking a Private Flu Vaccination can provide peace of mind – whether it’s a holiday, meeting up with friends, or the festive period you’re looking forward to.
The types of flu virus in circulation change each year, so it’s recommended to get your jab annually. The vaccine is updated each season to help protect against the strains expected to spread.
We can provide vaccinations to anyone who:
- Is aged between 18 to 64 years
- Is not otherwise eligible for an NHS Flu Vaccination (we can provide these too – find out more here).
- Would like the added benefit of protection against the Flu this Winter.
We look forward to taking care of you. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

The NHS offers free flu vaccines to people who meet certain eligibility criteria. If you’re not eligible, you can still protect yourself by booking a private flu vaccination at your local pharmacies in Morpeth, Pegswood and Ashington.
We may use slightly different Flu Vaccine types than those that are available through the NHS Service – due to age criteria and vaccine availability – but be reassured they’re still safe and effective at preventing Influenza. We’ll discuss the vaccines we use at your appointment.
Our Flu Vaccination Service typically runs from September to March each year.
Generally, we recommend getting vaccinated earlier on in the season, although recent advice from the Immunisation committee recommends October as the best time for most age groups.
Bookings are open now for appointments from 5th September 2026. Before this time, you can register your interest and we’ll pop you a message or give you a call to get you booked in.
Flu Vaccines have been used for decades safely, and effectively, to prevent serious illness from Influenza.
Mild side effects such as a sore arm or slight temperature may occur and usually pass quickly. Serious side effects are rare, and risk factors such as allergy to certain ingredients are always screened for at every appointment, ensuring your safety. Our staff are trained to manage reactions to vaccines, and are always on hand to support you with any questions you may have.
