Dosette Medication & Medicines Management
Medicines can be organised into weekly dosette trays for patients for whom it is deemed necessary, to help maintain medicines compliance and improve quality of life. This service is provided free of charge to those eligible; eligibility is assessed by our pharmacists on a case-by-case basis, to avoid overuse of the scheme. Where patients are not assessed as being eligible for the scheme, advice can be provided to carers on how to assemble these independently at home for patients.
Please contact our individual sites for further information.
Free Prescription Delivery
Our warm, punctual delivery drivers deliver prescriptions on every weekday, with a friendly smile. Our Central Pharmacy branch even uses an eco-friendly electric vehicle for deliveries.

Health and Medicines Advice
Our friendly team of staff are medicines experts and hold a wealth of knowledge on medicines, chronic conditions, and minor ailments, and we’re always happy to offer support and advice on all of these topics, and more, free of charge. Not only can we field medicines queries such as how your medicines work, or advise on optimisation of them, we can also take care of your minor ailments (providing treatments where applicable) and health concerns, without the need of an appointment – just feel free to call in to our pharmacies, or give us a call. Remember we always have a consultation room available if you’d prefer to speak somewhere privately. If you have a minor ailment and qualify for free prescriptions, you may be able to make use of our Pharmacy First scheme, which grants you free access to certain medicines which may be able to treat your condition without any need to visit a GP.
Healthy living advice is a cornerstone of our obligations as a community healthcare provider. We’re well placed to give you advice on healthy lifestlyes; for example weight management, staying safe in the sun, or stopping smoking. We often run interactive competitions in order to increase engagement in our healthy living campaigns – so keep an eye out! Keep up-to-date with our latest campaigns on social media or online. If we identify other possible avenues of support for you in your healthy living journey, we’ll also direct you to this, or make a referral with your permission.
Medicine Sales
We stock a range of over-the-counter medicines, in addition to vitamins, supplements, first aid supplies and further treatments, which are for sale. We can offer free advice and support, and a range of treatment options for various conditions. Our private consultation rooms are always available for use, to discuss any concerns or queries. If we can’t help with your ailment or illness, then we will always direct you to another healthcare service, or other provider who can assist you further.
If you are interested in a specific over-the-counter medicine which we may not always stock, then you can always check on our online inventory – showcasing the products we have available. If we don’t stock it – don’t worry! Please do just get in touch with us; we can usually place an order for the item, which can then be collected and purchased from our pharmacies, usually within 48 hours.

This ensures a consistently high quality of care for our patients, makes it easier for our teams to identify interventions and services we could proactively offer, and fulfills our payment and commissioning requirements. We’re also in the process of rolling out a new more efficient and eco-friendly system, that can even notify you when your prescription is ready to collect. This is currently in use at our Pegswood branch.

Condom Card Scheme
The C-Card scheme offers completely free sexual health advice and support for young people aged between 13 and 25 years of age. Once registered through a C-card trained worker, young persons can use their C-card to collect free condoms and sexual health supplies at a number of sites across the UK. Our sites running this scheme will provide free condoms to those registered.
Registration is easy, and will typically only last around 30 minutes. A trained professional will discuss sexual health and wellbeing, safe sex, contraception, consent, and other topics, to ensure the persons’ continued safety and support in their sexual wellbeing. Upon successful completion, a C-card will be issued which can then be used at a number of different sites.
All personal information given to staff is confidential, they only time we may need to share information you give us is if we have a concern about your safety or that of someone else you talk about. If this happens we will keep you informed of what we are doing and why we are doing it at every stage.
Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS)
Our Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS) connects patients who have been referred from either their GP, NHS 111/999, or Urgent Treatment Centres/A&E to a highly trained community pharmacist in their local community, who can provide medicines and health advice and support on a range of conditions, and provide treatments wherever appropriate. This mechanism can also allow for an emergency supply of medicines if you’ve ever run out.
Upon receiving a referral, we’ll usually get in touch via telephone to discuss your symptoms, and arrange for you to attend the pharmacy for further follow-up if we deem it necessary, or if you request to be seen in-person. We can also refer you on to other healthcare professionals if we determine we are unable to best support you.
COVID-19 Vaccination Service
Our COVID Vaccination Service has delivered over 33,000 jabs to the region. We’re now taking bookings for Autumn COVID & Flu Vaccinations. Follow the link below to find out more, and book your vaccination(s) today, if eligible.

A referral made by your hospital upon your discharge keeps ourselves as your healthcare professionals up-to-date with any amendments or changes to your medicines during your hospital stay, and ensures you understand any changes made and how to take all of your medicines correctly, helping you back leading a happy and healthy life at home. If you ever have any queries about any of the medicines you’re taking, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

Emergency Hormonal Contraception
Our pharmacies are located in the heart of our communities, and are a local, non-judgemental and supportive way of accessing emergency contraception whenever required. Typically, patients can be seen by a pharmacist in a matter of minutes, and if appropriate after a consultation, be offered the morning after pill. No appointment is required, however feel free to call any of our sites ahead of visiting if you have any queries or would like any reassurance.
During the consultation, the patient for whom the contraception is intended must be present. Questions about medical history will be asked, and further advice and support provided. Consultations are confidential, and performed in our private consulting rooms. If the morning after pill is deemed unsuitable, referrals can be made to other support services to ensure patients get the help they need.
Other emergency contraceptive options are available. Please review the NHS website for further information.
If you do have any questions or require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us.

We’re funded by the NHS to provide a free walk-in emergency medicines supply. If you need one of your regular medicines in an emergency when you are unable to obtain a prescription (e.g. due to surgery opening times), with proof the medication is supplied regularly to you through online records, we can issue you with a temporary supply of your medicine.
This service is only available to cover a short period of emergency supply. This supply is not available for scheduled Controlled Drugs. (If you require emergency access to controlled drugs without a prescription out-of-hours, please contact NHS 111). This service is provided at the pharmacists’ discretion at our sites.
Flu Vaccination Service
We support our communities each year from September to get the best possible defence from Flu. Our NHS-funded Flu Campaign allows all those aged 60 or over, or those 18 or over with certain health conditions, to access a flu vaccination through our pharmacy for free. Our highly skilled pharmacists will provide the vaccination in an efficient and friendly consultation, with appointments typically lasting less than 10 minutes. During Flu season, we offer a mix of both bookable appointments and walk-in vaccinations.
Getting vaccinated against Flu protects yourself and those around you. Flu can cause serious complications to those at elevated risk, and getting vaccinated greatly reduces the chances of falling seriously ill. You can find out more and book during flu season via our dedicated webpage below.
